The advantages of local anesthesia are its safety. Because the medications do not affect the brain, the patient can breathe on his or her own. Because there is a minimal amount of medications in the bloodstream, these medications tend not to affect the heart rate.
What are the advantages of General Anesthesia?
The advantage of general anesthesia is that the patient is asleep and does not feel any pain. Many areas of the body can be operated on. Longer and more invasive surgeries can be performed under general anesthesia as there is a limit of how much local anesthetic can be safely given in a given period of time.
What is Better – Local or General Anesthesia?
