Epididymitis<\/strong> can be diagnosed through history and physical exam by a urologist.  As scrotal and testicular ultrasound<\/a> is performed to confirm the diagnosis but also to exclude other causes such as testicular torsion or a cancerous mass.  Testicular ultrasound usually reveals increased flow to the testicle or the epididymis on the affected side.  Urinary tests for infection are performed.<\/p>\n

What is the Treatment for Epididymitis or Epididymo-orchitis?<\/h2>\n

Epididymitis and epididymo-orchitis are typically treated with antibiotics.  His symptoms are thought to be caused by infection.  In cases where noninfectious epididymitis is suspected, anti-inflammatory medications are typically used.<\/p>\n
