Chronic testicular pain<\/a><\/strong> is defined as pain that lasts for more than 3-6 months. Chronic testicular or scrotal pain is often difficult to treat.  Often, there is no clear cause for testicular pain.  <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometimes pain occurs after a vasectomy or after scrotal or inguinal surgery, such as inguinal hernia repair.  Other times, men have chronic epididymitis<\/a> or chronic orchitis<\/a>. Less common, epididymal cysts or spermatoceles can cause scrotal pain. Hydroceles<\/a> can also cause testicular pain.  Some men experience testicular pain as a result of prostatitis<\/a>-related infection.  A hyper-reactive cremaster muscle<\/a> can lead to testicular pain when it pulls the testis into the groin.<\/p>\n

When other treatment approaches for chronic testicular pain are unsuccessful, microscopic spermatic cord denervation<\/strong> can successfully treat testicular pain in up to 75% of men.  The procedure is also called “spermatic cord stripping<\/strong>” or ‘microsurgical denervation’ of the vas deferens and the spermatic cord.<\/p>\n
