She has been suffering for 5 years. Patient reports that symptoms started about 1 month after her last pregnancy, delivered via C-section.\u00a0 Pain and burning sensation occur around her anus.\u00a0 Patient describes the pain and burning as 9 out of 10.<\/p>\n<p>Patient has seen multiple physicians including GYN, pain management and physical therapy in the past and has been treated with cortisone shots, physical therapy with perineal massage as well as with Botox injections with no significant benefit from any treatment approach.<\/p>\n<p>Patient reported that she experienced burning constantly, pain was worse when she walked.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Course of Treatment at New York Urology Specialists<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Comprehensive history, physical examination and diagnostic studies were performed.<\/p>\n<p>Cystoscopy revealed normal bladder.\u00a0 Urodynamics revealed detrusor overactivity.<\/p>\n<p>Based on evaluation patient was diagnosed with neuropathic pain.<\/p>\n<p>Treatment was initiated with oral medications.\u00a0\u00a0 Patient experienced complete pain resolution within 2 months of treatment initiation.\u00a0 Patient was treated for 6 months.\u00a0 Medications were stopped in 6 months.
