  • In 10-15% of patients with Early Stage (Acute or Active Stage – First 12 months) disease, the curvature may improve. While it may resolve in some of these men, in others, improvement may be a result of underlying damage to erection quality. Less hard erections may mask true curvature.

  • Surgical treatment is Not recommended for Active Stage disease in patients with good erections.  Patients with severe erectile dysfunction are well served with penile implant

  • Topical Verapamil is of little benefit.

  • Xiaflex has been shown to help men with moderate to severe disease

  • The penile implant is an optimal treatment for moderate to severe Peyronie’s disease associated with erectile dysfunction.
