Vasectomy procedure info you requested – New York Urology Specialists

Dear {{ contact.firstname }},

I just got a note that you’d requested information about the no-scalpel vasectomy procedure, a permanent method of birth control for men and wanted to introduce myself as your main point of contact. When you’re ready, I’d love to find some time when we can connect for a chat, or you can schedule an appointment online.

Our practice specializes in no-scalpel vasectomy. Dr. Alex Shteynshlyuger is a board-certified Urologist with many years of experience successfully performing vasectomy.

We also have information for out-of-state and international patients. We offer vasectomy appointments that are convenient for men traveling from out-of-town.

Our vasectomy prices are affordable with or without insurance. We offer free insurance verification.

At New York Urology Specialists, we perform a “No-Scalpel, No-Needle” vasectomy. Vasectomy is performed in our office under local anesthesia. Optionally, it can also be performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Alex Shteynshlyuger is an experienced urologist who has successfully performed hundreds of no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomies.

The duration of the vasectomy procedure is around 30 minutes, after which you may go home and continue your normal routine. Most men experience minimal to no discomfort and can return to work in 1-2 days.

The total price for the procedure starts at $1535, which includes the initial consultation ($285, and the procedure itself ($1250).

Costs of vasectomy is an important consideration for many patients. To help you compare costs, we are attaching {{ if custom.documentexists_519992 }}Vasectomy Costs Whitepaper: How Costs of Vasectomy Compare{{ end }}.

Dr. Shteynshlyuger is one of the most experienced circumcision specialists.
We have excellent reviews from patients and their partners:

You can read RealStories of patients who underwent vasectomy at New York Urology Specialists and patient reviews that are written by our patients.

New York State law requires a 30-day waiting period before you can have a vasectomy. You can sign consent for vasectomy during your initial consultation. Once you sign consent for a vasectomy, you must wait at least THIRTY (30) calendar days before we can perform the procedure. It is considered a “cooling-off” period to give the patient time to consider his decision.

The vasectomy procedure is performed in our office under local anesthesia. There is no preparation necessary. Patients can eat and drink normally. Patients who take blood thinners need to stop them prior to the procedure. The procedure takes less than 30 minutes to perform and a patient can go home shortly after it.

Benefits of No-scalpel vasectomy procedure include:
– No need for general anesthesia or hospital stay
– Quick recovery
No sexual side effects
– No need to use condoms for contraception (once 2 semen specimens show no sperm)
– Excellent long-term effectiveness

Vasectomy achieves an excellent success rate (infertility). Our patients do 2 semen tests 2-3 months after vasectomy; once both tests show no sperm, men may rely on vasectomy for contraception.

If you are traveling, ideally avoid international travel to non-industrialized countries or areas lacking modern healthcare infrastructure for 1-2 days after the procedure. If you’re visiting us for a vasectomy procedure, it would be ideal if you stay in New York for 1-2 days after the procedure.

You can find answers to other common vasectomy questions on our vasectomy procedure website

An initial consultation with the doctor is necessary to determine if a vasectomy is right for you. Our goal is to help you choose the most effective and appropriate treatment option that meets your needs and preferences. During the initial encounter, Dr. Shteynshlyuger will perform a full physical examination, review medical records, and order any labs if necessary.
