HIV Testing: What You Need to Know <\/strong><\/h2>\n

New York City is a hot-spot for HIV infection. Around 1% of all New Yorkers are HIV+.<\/h2>\n

The Centers for Disease Control recommend annual testing for HIV for all adults at risk<\/strong>.  Men and women who are at higher risk (multiple sexual partners, unprotected sex, etc) should be tested every 3 months.<\/p>\n

Safe sex practices provide the best way to avoid HIV.<\/p>\n

HIV disease usually causes no symptoms at least initially. Later on, it may cause severe disease when it manifests as AIDS.<\/p>\n
