According to the International Continence Society (ICS), LUTS are categorized into three types:
Storage Symptoms: Daytime frequency, nocturia (urination at night), urgency, urinary incontinence (stress urinary incontinence, urge urinary incontinence, mixed urinary incontinence, enuresis, nocturnal enuresis, continuous urinary incontinence, etc) and bladder sensation are common in storage symptoms.
Voiding Symptoms: Voiding symptoms include slow stream, splitting or spraying, intermittent stream, hesitancy, straining and terminal dribble.
Post-micturition Symptoms: A feeling of incomplete bladder emptying and post-micturition dribble are indications of post-micturition symptoms.
There are also some other related symptoms such as bladder pain, urethral pain, scrotal pain, perineal pain and pelvic pain.
