Urodynamics Testing:  Is it Expensive?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Since a urodynamic study is not one single test, but a group of tests, the cost can vary greatly depending on the exact combination of studies performed and whether or not video urodynamics is included.<\/p>\n

The cost of the test also depends on where it is performed. If it performed in the physician office, the test is less expensive.  If the test is performed in a hospital or hospital-affiliated facility, the test can be much more expensive.<\/p>\n

At New York Urology Specialists<\/a> we perform the test in the office which can save thousands of dollars for patients with high-deductible insurance or no insurance.<\/p>\n

What Insurances Cover the Cost of Urodynamics?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The cost of a urodynamic study is covered by all insurances including Medicare, Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, HIP, Union Plans, 1199, Emblem Health, and GHI. The test must be ordered by a qualified urologist who can demonstrate medical necessity.  Most insurances in New York City that cover patients in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Westchester, and Staten Island cover the cost of this procedure.<\/p>\n

Preauthorization may be required by some insurance companies.  <\/p>\n
