Bladder and Kidney Infection: Same Day Appointments

If you are experiencing UTI, bladder infection or kidney infection and need urgent or emergent urological care from an experienced urologist, specialists at New York Urology Specialists are available to help you.

We offer same day and next-day appointments for patients with kidney infections and bladder infections during our office hours.

If you cannot wait because the pain is severe or we are not open, if it’s after hours or on the weekend, if you have pain or go straight to the emergency room at New York Methodist Hospital or Maimonides Hospital Medical Center and ask that Dr. Alex Shteynshlyuger be called to take care of your urological needs.  You can also get evaluated in the emergency room at New York Methodist Hospital or Maimonides Medical Center during the evening and night hours and on weekends if you have pain in the penis that occurred during or after sex or masturbation.

Common symptoms of urinary tract infections (bladder infections and kidney infections)

  • Frequent urination that is new
  • Burning with urination
  • Blood in urine
  • Lower abdominal discomfort or pain with urgency to urinate
  • Flank or kidney pain
  • Fever

When you should go to ER:

If you have UTI symptoms and Fever, you should go to the ER

If you have a history of kidney stones, fever, and abdominal or back pain, you may have an obstructing stone. You should go to the ER.

If you have symptoms of UTI and feel weak, you should go to the ER as you might have sepsis (blood infection).

If you have symptoms of bladder infection or kidney infection and history of poorly controlled diabetes, take immunosuppressive medications such as corticosteroids (steroids), have HIV or AIDS or pregnant it should go to the emergency room.

We provide urgent and emergency care for men and women with kidney infections, bladder infections, kidney stones and blood in urine from all parts of New York City (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island) and surrounding areas in our office as well as at affiliated hospitals (Maimonides Medical Center and New York Methodist Hospital).

UTI in the presence of fever and obstructing stones, urethral strictures, ureteral strictures or UPJ obstruction can be serious and require emergent evaluation. Do not delay care – go to the ER immediately.
