Penile Pearly Papule Treatment: 26-year-old Man Treated at New York Urology Specialists
RN is a 26-year-old man with complaints of penile pearly papules. The papules have been present for as long as he can remember. They are not causing any pain or discomfort. He is visually bothered by the penile pearly papules. His sexual partner questioned whether he has an STD. He would like to have the pearly papules removed.
A physical exam revealed penile pearly papules.
Follow-up Appointment – Penile Pearly Papule Removal
The patient chose to have penile pearly papules removed in the office under local anesthesia. He drove the procedure from another state.
The patient was given pain medication, bupivacaine, in order to make the penis numb. Penile pearly papules were destroyed with electrocautery. The patient reported no pain during the procedure.
Follow-up Appointment – 1 month
The patient presents for a video follow-up 1 month after penile pearly papule removal. He reports that initially, he had swelling in the area, but it started to heal over the past 2 weeks. He reports no pain and no bleeding, no change in sensation. He gets good erections. A review of the images revealed that the area is healing well.
The patient was advised that he can resume sexual activity in 2 weeks.
Follow-up Appointment – 3 months
The patient had a virtual visit by video. He reports that the area has healed well. He is highly satisfied with the procedure and cosmetic results. He reports improved confidence. He experienced no change in sensation.
