Penis Skin Bridge Removal: 51-year-old Man Treated at New York Urology Specialists
UJ is a 51-year-old man with complaints of penile skin adhesions that have been present all his life. He is not happy with the appearance of the penis, and he wants to see if the problem can be corrected.
A physical exam revealed a skin bridge connecting the shaft and the glans of the penis.
The patient was evaluated. Treatment options were discussed.
The patient chose to undergo penile skin bridge removal. The procedure was performed in the office under local anesthesia. Penis skin bridge removal took less than 1 hour. Plastic surgery techniques were used to minimize scar formation and to improve the healing process. A fine absorbent suture was used, and surgical glue was applied to seal the area. The patient reported no pain during the procedure.
The patient was advised not to engage in sexual activity for 1 month until the area heals completely and the sutures come out.
Follow-up Appointment – 3 weeks after Skin Bridge Removal
The patient returns for a follow-up visit 3 weeks after the procedure to remove a penile skin bridge for cosmetic reasons. He reports no pain but experienced some irritation from the stitches rubbing against the underwear. The area is healing well. The patient was advised that he can resume sexual activity in 2 weeks.
