Botox for Treatment of Urinary Problems: Cost Within Reach

Side Effects of Botox

OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) is an effective treatment for men and women with symptoms of poor bladder control caused by overactive bladder as well in patients with neurogenic bladder.

Botox is effective in patients where other treatment options have failed.  It is effective in patients for whom oral pills do not work, and in whom neuromodulation with Interstim or tibial neuromodulation have failed.

Because Botox is a one-time procedure that offers continuous benefit for most patients for more than 7-8 months before another treatment is necessary, it is considered to be a very cost-effective and convenient treatment option compared to the cost of medications over 8 months.

The cost of Botox consists of the following components. The first 3 components are general to an evaluation of a patient’s condition and determining the cause and appropriate treatment options:

  1. Physician consultation and evaluation whether Botox is an appropriate treatment option or if there are better options available to the patient
  2. Tests that may be necessary for the evaluation of causes of urinary problems such:
    1. Bladder ultrasound
    2. Cystoscopy
    3. Urodynamic evaluation

The last 2 costs are particular to patients who are good candidates for Botox injections in the urinary bladder.

  1. The cost of Botox medication
  2. The cost of Botox injection procedure.

Because of the cost of medications changes often, please contact us for detailed current pricing.
