What is Post-Finasteride Syndrome?
The post-finasteride syndrome refers to a variety of symptoms that occur in a small number of men who take medications such as finasteride and dutasteride, which are broadly called alpha-reductase inhibitors. Most often, these symptoms occur in younger men in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s who took finasteride or dutasteride for the prevention or treatment of androgenic alopecia or hair loss. These symptoms may also occur in men who are older and take these medications for enlarged prostate or prostatitis. Many online pharmacies advertise these medications widely, for example, ForHims, Ro or Roman, and others. Unfortunately, men who experience these side effects find very little help from the companies that prescribe them.
Symptoms Caused by Post-Finasteride Syndrome.
Men may experience one or more symptoms after taking finasteride or dutasteride, which are collectively referred as “post-finasteride syndrome”:
