Our practice specializes in adult circumcision; we also perform circumcision revisions. Dr. Alex Shteynshlyuger is a board-certified Urologist with many years of experience performing these procedures. Penile frenuloplasty may also be performed at the same time as circumcision for men who have frenulum breve or have excess skin in the area of the frenulum, or desire frenuloplasty for aesthetic reasons.

While circumcision can be performed in a hospital, over 90% of our patients choose to have the procedure to be done in our office under local anesthetic. Most patients are able to return to regular activities the next day. More than 80% of patients do not require any pain medications or take Motrin.
At New York Urology Specialists, circumcision typically takes about 1 hour to perform. After your procedure, you can continue with your normal routine, except for simple instructions that you must follow.
Our DISCOUNTED fees for self-pay patients without insurance start as follows:
- Initial Consultation: $285
- Circumcision Procedure: $2400 (more complex reconstruction may cost extra)
- Total Cost (Consultation + Circumcision procedure): $2685.00 (financing options are available)

More complex procedures such as those that require reconstruction may incur additional fees. Men who require penoscrotal web repair will incur additional charges.

We offer 2 types of appointments for circumcision:
- Consultation followed by circumcision on another day, and
- same-day consultation and circumcision. Reservation to have same-day procedure and consultation requires a non-refundable deposit at the time of appointment scheduling. While most circumcisions can be performed as the same-day procedure, please be aware that complex reconstructions may require scheduling on a different day.
For a CONSULTATION ONLY, we can schedule you during regular office hours Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Thursdays from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and alternating Saturdays from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO GET THE PROCEDURE DONE ON THE SAME DAY.
For SAME-DAY circumcision, we can only book you on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm and working Saturdays from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The appointment MUST BE BOOKED OVER THE PHONE and a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $285 must be made with a credit card, debit card, PayPal or ZellePay. The deposit will go towards the total cost of the procedure.
It is our policy that patients must pre-pay the cost of the procedure. If your procedure is medically necessary, we will file a claim with your insurance company to try to obtain reimbursement for you. However, how much and whether your insurance company will cover the costs of the procedure is not under our control.
Please be advised that a charge of $50 will be applied as a penalty for appointment cancellation within 72 hours of the appointment. A charge of $250 will be applied as a penalty for circumcision procedure cancellation within 7 days of the procedure.

Just FYI – there are many reasons why men come to New York Urology Specialists with a request for circumcision. Some want it for aesthetic or hygienic reasons; others want circumcision for cultural or religious reasons.
Many men experience inflammation, swelling and small cuts on the foreskin of the penis during sex and for them, circumcision can cure recurrent balanitis.
When the foreskin is too tight or cannot be pulled back, known as phimosis, friction can cause pain during sex or with erections and urinary problems. Many men who experienced problems with foreskin regret that they did not see us sooner!
