Treatment of Complications from Circumcision
A circumcision that is too tight, causing penoscrotal webbing, may lead to difficulties with penetration and functional shortening of the penile shaft. Treatment requires the correction of penoscrotal webbing.
If circumcision leads to the tightness of skin dorsally (top of the penis), tissue grafts or flaps may be necessary to correct the problem.
Wound hematoma may occur occasionally. Hematomas greater than 1-2 cm are best treated with a prompt evacuation. Prompt treatment typically leads to faster recovery and better aesthetic results.
Wound infections are not common but can occur. Treatment depends on the extent and severity of infection as well as on patient characteristics.

A number of complications may occur as a result of fat injections below the penile skin, often performed with the aim of increasing penile thickness or girth.
Complications that we have seen and treated:
Wound infection – the treatment depends on the severity of the infection and the underlying procedure that has been performed; antibiotics are usually effective but surgical debridement may be required.
Penile scarring – scar tissue can form at the site of penile injections. Usually, this results in hard palpable nodules in the penis, often multiple in the area of fat injections or implant graft placement. Treatment requires removal of the scar tissue from the penis.
Penile curvature – scarring can lead to penile curvature and deformity. While occasionally treatment may be relatively simple with the release of skin from the scar tissue, the complication may be more involved and may require individualized treatment planning.
Penile skin bridges are small skin tags between the glans of the penis and penis shaft that occur due to adhesions usually after baby circumcision.
