Cosmetic Circumcision. Genital Warts on the Penis.
MZ is a 28-year-old man who noticed penile lesions on the foreskin 1 year ago. They have slowly grown over time. He also wants to have a circumcision for cosmetic reasons.
Physical examination revealed a large number of genital warts on the foreskin. After a discussion of treatment options, the patient decided to proceed with circumcision. He was informed that genital warts would be removed along with the foreskin but they may recur. The patient was also advised to consider HPV vaccination.
He underwent circumcision with self-absorbable (dissolving) stitches. The procedure was done under local anesthesia and took less than 1 hour. Genital warts were removed along with the foreskin.
On follow-up 3 weeks after the procedure, the patient reported that he did not require pain medications but took 2 pills of Motrin on the first day as a precaution.
On follow up 1 month later patient reports that he feels well; has no pain. The incision is healing well. He was advised that he can resume sexual activity in 1 week.
