A penile frenectomy is similar to penile frenuloplasty. The penile frenectomy is also sometimes called frenulectomy of the penis. Frenectomy is a procedure performed for the treatment of short and tight frenulum of the penis and literally means cutting the frenulum of the penis.
What are the Symptoms of Frenulum Breve?
Usually, short frenulum of the penis or “frenulum breve’ causes the tip of the penis to bend when erect, it may also cause pain with erections or during sex. Penile frenulectomy can effectively treat the problem in less than 30 minutes.
A penile frenectomy can be performed as a same-day procedure with fast recovery. Most men are able to return to work activities the next day. The procedure is done under local anesthesia with no or minimal pain.
What are the Risks of Frenectomy?
The risks of frenectomy are similar to any other surgical procedure:
