Green Light laser is an effective treatment option alternative to traditional TURP procedure for men with enlarged prostate and BPH who have symptoms of slow urine flow, frequent urination and difficulty passing urine. Greenlight laser of the prostate is also effective for men with urinary retention who are unable to urinate and require urinary Foley catheter use to empty the urinary bladder.
Greenlight Laser for BPH
Greenlight laser procedure is a surgical procedure that is performed in a surgical center or hospital setting under anesthesia. Most men are able to go home the same day or the next day after the procedure. Some men need to stay in the hospital for 1-3 days after this procedure. The catheter is usually removed within 1-7 days after the procedure depending on the individual patient characteristics.
Greenlight laser can be performed in select men who cannot stop aspirin or Plavix.
