Greenlight Laser for BPH
Greenlight laser procedure is a surgical procedure performed in a surgical center or hospital setting under anesthesia. Most men can go home the same day or the next day after the procedure. Some men need to stay in the hospital for 1-3 days after this procedure. The catheter is usually removed within 1-7 days after the procedure, depending on the individual patient characteristics.
Greenlight laser can be performed in select men who cannot stop aspirin or Plavix.

Do I have to stay in the hospital after a GreenLight prostate procedure?
Treatment with Greenlight laser for BPH and enlarged prostate is usually a same-day outpatient procedure. Most men do not require an overnight stay in the hospital. Some men may require a 1-3 day hospital stay. We will inform you about your particular expectations during your consultation.

Does the GreenLight Laser for BPH treatment affect sexual function?
Less than 1-5% of patients experience erectile dysfunction. However, 30-80% of patients experience retrograde ejaculation after the procedure. It is possible to perform ejaculation-preserving surgery with Greenlight laser.
How long does it take for my symptoms to improve?
